Game 9 V Temple Grafton CC

An enthralling 1st Ashes test has meant that our bus detoured to a venue that broadcast it, as none of our hotels pay for SkySports. So the 'Binton Club' was it! The game V Temple Grafton CC was delayed due to rain, but we got our game in commencing at 2:45.
What a ground!...what an atmosphere!.... Eva Cassidy wrote a song called 'Fields of Gold' and Kevin Costner starred in 'Field of dreams'.....well this was both rolled into one.
It was ladies day as well at the cicket, so a marque was erected and the ladies loved the day with champagne and banter abundant.
The Sprigs, led by Simon Godfrey, won the toss and sent Temple Grafton in.....on a sticky.....but it wasn't long before some of our bowling was despatched into the wheatfields that surrounded.....We think old mate and organiser of the day 'Tommy Benjamin' may have 'stacked' his top order.
Scorecard: Ian Dinsdale 43, 1/4 Peter Jackobson 5, Robbie Comerford 0, 1/24 Ranjie Oliver 39, Jordan Whiting 9,4/21 David Parker 3, Adam Jackson 8, 1/36 Simon Godfrey 0, Anton Noble 5, 0/19 Matthew Thompson 25, 0/38 Adam Thewlis 0/16, Michael Whiting 16, 1/45
Wattlesprigs 174 cc Temple Grafton 6/217 Mug: Jordan Whiting.
The Ashes Teapot was presented to captain Tommy and a few speeches were made as the sun went down over the Cotswolds....another day in cricket paradise!
Thankyou also to the Christening party that attended the afternoon. You guys added to the atmosphere.....and to Alan, chairman of Temple Grafton...Thankyou for this privilege.
